Jaywick Martello Tower (JMT) is a unique arts, heritage and community space. The Tower was built in the Napoleonic War as part of a system of defences along the south east coast. It is now classified as a scheduled ancient monument and a grade two listed building. JMT plays a pivotal role within the local community and surrounding areas of Jaywick and is a key tourist destination, attracting on average 8,000 visitors per year. The Tower delivers a programme of exhibitions, workshops, talks and events and is managed by the Essex County Council Cultural Development Team.

JMT is looking to contract a part-time Tower Assistant for three months to assist in the general day-to-day running of the Tower and to assist in the development of culture in Jaywick.

The successful applicant will be required to assist in the development of culture in Jaywick for the benefit of the local community and visitors, through providing clerical support to the work of the Jaywick Martello Tower Manager and front of house duties.
